A Gladiators End
With numerous injuries and father time on his back, Brett Favre may have come to the end of his journey as the “number 1” man on the grid iron. Favre just had 10 stitches put into his chin, after taking an astonishing blow from Patriots defensive end Myron Pryor, in Sunday’s 28-18 loss. His days may be numbered, but when will he stop counting?
After coming off of one of his best seasons ever, last year, everyone thought that Favre would hang up his cleats and ride off into the sunset. While he was close to the top, he was not as close as he wanted to be. Coming back after a long awaited summer, Favre was questioned about his ability time and time again. Anyone that has watched Brett Favre over the years; is always excited to see what tricks he is going to pull out of his sleeve next. Either it be an under handed toss to a running back as he is be tackled, or an offensive drive that has perfectly placed passes and ends with a game winning touchdown toss by the one and only. Now when people watch him play, they hope that he can make it through the entire game without getting broken in some way. While we do all wish the best for Favre, although it is hard to say… maybe it is time for him to hang it up.
While he is a hard worker, motivator, team leader, and one heck of a human specimen; age catches up with everyone. He is one step slower than he used to be, and his arm comes out to play every once and a while but not as often as he needs it to. His 4202 yard season in 2009 was his third best season in his career, but can he produce those numbers again this year? As of right now, the answer to that question looks like NO! He has the heart of a giant, but the body of a 41 year old man that has been beaten on for 20 years in the National Football League… how much more can he handle?

Writer (or so called writer) Robinson reaches new low
Yahoo sports writer Charles Robinson wrote an article talking about so called True Packer Fans and making really bad comments about things he obviously knew very little about.
He was commenting on Brett Farve one of the greatest players to ever strap on a jock strap. Brett said the true fans would understand and I for one am a true fan and also have been for a very long time. A real fan would understand the heart of a champion that has a really hard time walking away from the thing that he has excelled at for so long. Competitors have this problem all the time and the non competitors have a really hard time understanding it. I can imagine the main reason Mr. Robinson has such a hard time understanding this is he never strap on the jock strap. He has probably never been a champion or even a competitor. This makes it very hard for him to understand.
We would probably be much better off if we had a requirement for sports writers to have actually competed in the sport so they would understand what they are writing about. Or maybe we should change their name to be non sportsman writers and let it be known they are writing for the sportsman wannabes. The ones who sit in the stands and fuss about things they have no idea about. Second guessing coaches who have been working day and night on game plan.
