Mississippi State went to 7-2 after hanging on to defeat Kentucky in Starkville Saturday. The No. 23 MSU was able to do just enough to keep its winning streak intact. The Bulldogs were able to hold off Kentucky 24-17 for their 6th straight victory. “There were opportunities to make some big plays and we missed some,” said MSU head coach Dan Mullen. “We had fumbled snaps, missed some open receivers down the field but we came away with the win and that is the most important statistic” MSU had 325 yards of offense churning out 214 on the ground. Vic Ballard broke the 100 yard mark for the 3rd time this season carrying 14 times for 103 yards and a TD in his first game back after an ankle injury. QB Chris Relf finished the night with 190 yards of offense and two touchdowns. Relf completed 7 of 16 passing for 111 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions while adding 79 yards and a score on the ground on 16 attempts.
