Just What Is Up With the Jacksonville Jaguars

It’s a sad fact that the Jacksonville Jaguars just haven’t had a lot of odds in their favor lately.  They finished 2009 at 7-9 and odds are they aren’t going to be doing much better in 2010. Here are some of the predictions for Jacksonville in the 2010 season, which will probably mark the end of the current coach’s time there unless they see huge success this year.

David Garrard is still quarterback for the team this season.  But will he stay?  Probably not.  He’s got one last shot and this is it.  If he can’t get his game together, Luke McCown, the current backup, is going to get a chance to fill the seat.  Now the Jaguars do have good rushing attacks in 2010, and lots of good offensive players who will hopefully be able to work with Garrard’s lack of skill.  It’s not exactly a great or extraordinary offensive lineup, but if the odds are in favor of this team, they can get a few wins under their belt this year.

So how about defense?  Some new players are joining the Jaguars defense this year.  Derrick Harvey is going to have to get his game together and make some changes this season.  If he doesn’t, the defense of the team is going to fail again.  There are some improvements such as linebacker Kirk Morrison, who has lots of skill and experience under his belt and brings good strength to the team.  Where they fail is in the safety and free safety spots, though their starting corners are looking a bit more promising.

So what will really happen to the Jaguars this year?  In terms of AFC South, they aren’t going to win.  They might finish with a few wins but they will still have more losses to beat them.  They aren’t going to top the Colts or the Texans.  It’s slimly possible that they’ll see a few wins, but unlikely – and more probably that Jack Del Rio and David Garrard are both going to be history after this season.

But who knows?  Maybe they will surprise us.  Still, betting wise, it isn’t a good idea to place too much strength on the Jaguars.  They have not shown promising results in the last couple seasons and given their record of lousy coaching and quarterbacking, they’re just going to keep making the same mistakes.

Sorry guys, this isn’t a strong team.  Place your bets elsewhere on teams with strong leadership and better players.  When it comes down to it, this team has just not got the potential to get past its hurdles.  There are some good players, but they’re held back by the team’s complete lack of leadership and a good quarterback.  Sad to say, but some quarterbacks are just failures, and Garrard’s proven to be that way so far. There’s really no reason to think he’s going to push beyond that this year, but maybe next season when the laggards are gone the team will finally be able to reach some measure of success.

Jacksonville Jaguars Getting Better Already

After one season, the Jacksonville Jaguars are looking like a team that is fully refreshed and ready to make an impression on the world of football. The team is on the path you make a lasting impression that will see them heading to the playoffs if the current progress is continued and the team is able to maintain the progress that they had in the first week.

There was a lesson of all the things to do when you are looking to score touchdowns and wind up in the end zone on a regular basis. Many of the issues that the team had in the pre season and the last part of the season last year are now gone and the team looks to be a vibrant team that is ready to win more games and push for the playoffs.

One area that has been the recipient of much success, is the passing unlike many of the past seasons, the team is looking to get their passing back to the state that they were in just a few years ago. The return of the passing game has given the team a renewed sense of purpose and as a result has driven the team to see a purpose of reaching the post season.

Running the ball is one thing that will need to be given the proper attention that it deserves. While many of the teams in the division are looking to make a name for themselves off of the Jaguars, this will be a task that will be difficult at best to accomplish and allow them to feel better about beating the team.

Looking at the schedule, of the Jaguars, the team has a long road that they will need to travel in order to get to the top of the division and remain there. While right now the team looks like a championship team, remember that as the season progresses, these top teams will be sorted out and the true champions will begin to reveal themselves.

The running game will be on top of their offense this season, these running plays will be the heart and soul of the team and as a result will either be what leads to success or will lead to failure as a result. This will be a tough season for the running game of the Jaguars.

2010 will be a tough season for the team to use as their chance to regain their footing and climb back to the top of the football world, there will need to be a lot of work that will need to be done in order for the team to see the light of day and even have a remote chance at being a contender this season.

This is a good year to pull out the team apparel and as a result become one of the faithful of the team, if you are new to the team, then look into becoming a huge fan of the team. This will be an interesting season for the team.
