Georgia’s football game with Florida is deemed by many Bulldogs fans as a favoring of Florida. This game is not a home-home series like most all of college football’s games. This game is played on a neutral site in Jacksonville, FL. It doesn’t seem fair to Bulldogs fans because Jacksonville is only 73 miles away from Gainesville, FL, but a whopping 342 miles from Athens, GA. Georgia has the edge in this series. Florida somewhat closed the gap in the past two decades. Georgia recognizes the series record as 47-38-2. This includes the football game in 1904 before Florida sanctioned their football program. However, Georgia counts that game because it’s a game that was actually played between the two teams. Recently, the two teams have almost split the last 5 games. Florida won in 2005, ‘06, and ‘08. Georgia won in 2004 and ’07. From 1990 and 2003, Florida went 15-1. This somewhat closed the gap but Georgia still holds about a 10 game edge between the two schools.

They will resume play Friday afternoon against whoever wins Virginia and Arkansas. Virginia won and lost 9 more games than Arkansas during the regular season. The Tigers had a 3-0 lead during the first inning. LeMahieu singled and stole second. Schimpf was walked. Mikie Mahtook hit a three-run home run which gave them a lead they would not look back on.

The Longhorns battled back like everybody knew they would. The Sun Devil’s lead of 6 runs had evaporated when they came back up to bat.
Keyes had a single. Leake got hit by a pitch. Rupp hit a powerful homerun. Preston Clark and also Connor Rowe each singled. This is just a snippet of part of the Longhorns comeback.
The Longhorns was able to get out of a jam when the score was tied at 6. There were two people on base for Arizona in the 6th inning and didn’t give up any more runs. Since Texas didn’t give up any more runs, it allowed Rupp’s homerun to put the Longhorns up by 1 run.
